One other thing I learned about Marcums...if you're in a place with a lot of ice anglers, look for broken ones for sale on Craigslist or Facebook. Short of really major (physical) damage, Marcum will completely refurbish them for cheap. They re-did my LX-5 for $80 and it's better than new. (I live close enough to where shipping isn't a problem, though that would obviously be an additional charge for those outside the Twin Cities metro area)
