First trip to Harris Chain - need advice

Good morning - our club (out of Savannah) is planning a trip in Feb to Harris Chain. We will have 10-12 boats. I see that there is an ABA out of the Hwy 27 ramp the same weekend that we are going in Feb. Looking for suggestions on best ramp and places to stay that are fairly boater friendly and safe. Buzzard Beach appears to have room but is on the south side. Is there anything decent on the north side of the chain or???? Thanks for any recommendations.

Buzzard beach is the central ramp. It has the best of access to all the lakes on the chain. The Big Bass Tour has a tournament February 7-9 out there. There will be over 300 boats using all ramps, it will be a zoo. There is also a co-ed open on February 2nd out of Buzzard Beach so pick the right weekend.

Very crowded. Over 900 people fished the 3 days last year. You could walk across the boats.

It was SOOOO crowded last year....every spot had 20 boats on it...every launch was full....the lake was crazy ALL WEEKEND. Probably the busiest weekend of the year for the chain.

Yup... do not even think about having a tournament the same weekend as the big bass tournament. All ramps on the chain are allowed to be used. Most are at capacity by 4:30 in the morning. Herlong Park, Venetian Gardens and Buzzard Beach will have trailers parked along the roads or anywhere there is a grass median. It's crazy. The weigh in as at Hickory Point and you and either boat over or trailer to the hourly weigh-ins

Labella inn is a decent hotel if your looking to not pay a lot of money, you can park your boat right at your door, they have outlets for you to charge your batteries also. This is where I stay when fishing the bigbasstour, never had any issues.

Thanks everyone - we are just going to move to another lake so as to not be in anyone's way. One day we will get to fish that chain when it's right.
