Anyone have a photo or diagram for the optimal transom installation location on a Ranger Multi Species hull? The standard installation manual is vague and does not depict the design of the transom area on this type of hull. The most popular installation on that hull type is a thru-hull Imaging under the transom extension and a shoot-thru 2D transducer in the bilge.

Even if you keep the transom attachment, you should be using a shoot-thru 2D transducer.

There are quite a few Walleye guys with multi species boats that will mount their 2d transducers on the outside for better readings while on plane, they say they can mark fish better that way than with a shoot thru transducer.
