Livesight Issue

I took my boat out yesterday to test my new Ghost trolling motor and Livesight transducer. Very pleased with the Ghost. More powerful, quieter and overall performance was much improved from my Ultrex. Livesight was another story. My HDS Live initialized the Livesight and things seemed to work ok on pallet 1. Went back to downscan for about an hour. I decided to go to a bridge and look at the pilings with Livesight. After activating Livesight, cross track and depth readings came up, but I no longer had pallet 1 displaying. The screen was black. Every 10 seconds or so, you could see the HDS was attempting to collect RT images. Nothing showed up. Changed channels to no avail. During my trouble shooting on the water I tried to change frequencies, pallets and other things thinking it could be an operator setup issue. Nothing worked.Could this be a power issue? I had no other issues with my HDS hanging, or shutting off. Power did not appear to a issue with the other HDS functions. I Charged the Group 31 battery over night. Tried firing up Livesight this morning - same black screen. Stuck my ear to the transducer to listen for pinging. Nothing. Any ideas? Thanks

+1. There is a LiveSight update for both the transducer itself, and the HDS LIVE; you need to do both.

Looks like I have both installed. Same black screen. Connected it to my console HDS live. Same issue. I will contact Lowrance CS tomorrow. See if they have any ideas. Thanks for yours.

Did you turn it on in features? Go to system>advance>features, then turn on the front and down livesight boxes.

No. I did not do that. However, when I initially turned on my bow HDSlive, It initialized and Live Sight came up. I then went back to downscan. After an hour or so, went to the app page and pushed livesight and that is when I got the dark screen. I will try this morning to go into features and set it up again. Thanks for the advice. i will let you know what the outcome is. It's going to hit 70 tomorrow and I would like to try again. Thanks!

Just went out to the garage and checked to see if feature was set. Unfortunately, It was. So I guess I'm back to calling Lowrance Customer Service to see if they have any advice. Thanks again for your input.

If your using forward scan make sure Livesight install is set to forward scan on the install menu and that you select forward scan in the charts page. This is a two step process. Same with downview. This applies each time you want to change from downview to forward view.

Lowrance told me to send it back for a replacement. The transducer is broken. Thanks to everyone who offered help. Much appreciated.

I had to do a soft reset, mine was black until then

That was one of the troubleshooting steps I had to perform before they determined it was defective.

I have found the following to be the simplest and most effective when it comes to Lowrance problems -

1 - Software Update
if problem persists ...
2 - Restore Default
if problem persists ...
3 - Return to Supplier

That was the path I took. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a step or obscure setting. In the end "Return to Supplier".
