The Motor Guide mount kit is better if you must use that faster type. More padding for the mount to deck interface.

they are made of heavy duty rubber and have a brass threaded insert and when you screw the bolt in it exspands the rubber and tightens
They sound just like the Motorguide Isolator bolts that Wayne mentions above. They are not great. You are better off using stainless bolts, washers, and nuts. With those isolators, a lot of us used to just cut the heads off and use them for cushioning between the mount and the glass, and then use our own stainless hardware.

thanks , was thinking they might come loose over time
I don’t think they come loose but the rubber will deteriorate over time so they become loose and then you can’t tighten them, the nut will just spin in place. If you can’t access the underside, they are the only option but you’re better off to through bolt the bracket.
I've got my new 112 Ultrex clamped to the Skeeter with two of the Motor Guides in the front, with 4 through bolts middle and back. Third trolling motor on that boat in 17 years. All installed the same. Never had an issue. When the rubber deteriorates (I've not had one do on this boat, but did on some older boats), hacksaw the top off and stick in a new one. It would be nice to hard bolt all the holes, but I've never had a problem this way and the front of that Skeeter is impossible to reach from beneath.
Check on them every now and then (Need to on all the bolts). Keep them tight, no problem.
