Throw something the stays on top of the water, or goes under the water, somewhere between the shoreline and the river channel on either side of the lake. Best time is from whenever you launch the boat until the time you need to leave.

    Ur welcome.

They usually bite two times a day on Livingston, before you get there and after you leave.

No love for Livingston that is for sure.

I like fishing the lake, have had some good days and really good finishes over the years. Catching 5@20lbs is not as likely on Livingston, Conroe offers a better chance at a really big fish. But Livingston is usually better on numbers.

The old wooden dock north of the dam is the hot spot for Conroe. My other hot spots are the farm pond dam near the red bull and Sister Mary's point.

Fish the hydrilla on Conroe. Take a .22 and shoot any carp you see.

On Livingston fish 'The Jungle'...oh wait that was circa 1977. Well you can still fish in the area where The Jungle used to be...

Just fish wherever I don’t fish on Conroe, I can’t catch crap on that lake. When I do catch them they are dinks.

Haha I got exactly what I was expecting lol. Conroe is trash I can’t catch anything to save my life especially since it’s low. I do know deep humps is basically where all the bass fisherman are. I also got to witness 3 boats smoke a sandbar the other weekend

Any guide recommendation on either lake? I may be in the Houston area on business during the week of January 13th and thinking of extending if possible and if its worth it? Thoughts???

Houston Boat show is that weekend too, some guides may not be available that weekend.

Those two lakes are prolly not the best for fishing experience. I am unaware of a bass guide on Livingston, I am sure they exist, plenty of white bass guides tho on Livingston.

Fayette County would be a good option for a fun experience. 1:15 west of Houston.

Conroe can be fun if you hit the right spots just like any lake. Question is where are the right spots???? That’s a great question. Fish seem to love to move on Conroe. Here one day gone the next

Fished Conroe yesterday and offshore brush piles is the only place we had any luck catching anything of any size. Caught them around 8-12 feet, it was very tough for us. Anything caught shallow has been very small.
