    1987 Champion Super V

    I recently purchased a1987 Champion Super V for a $1000.00.
It has a 175hp Mercury Black Max. Boat length is 18'4".
Can anyone tell me the model number of the boat. Example 184, 201, etc.
The title just says Super V.
It has a single driver console. Can I add a passenger console?
This was a one owner boat and only needs a good detail job.
    It's lake ready.

The model number is 18'4, 175 rated, 86 inch beam. No you can't add a console.

I owned a 1986 18 SuperV wish I had it back. Great all around hull when setup right will run fast.

Never heard of Mr. Miller I hope he does good work. I have always done boat detailing myself. I have both my vehicles detailed by TNC in Broken arrow because they do great work at a good price and, they use a ceramic wax that I like the results. The light spots on the side where the chrome fenders reflected on the hull are a pain. After it is wet sanded and buffed out I would recommend you either replace the fenders or cover them.

Thank you for the advice. I need advice because I'm a novice boat owner.
I will do all these suggestions.
After detailing it's going to a boat mechanic and he is
going to inspect the engine and repair any issues if needed.
I'm trying to get it in top condition as possible. I have several friends
who knows the man who sold it to me. They said he maintained it
and took great care of it.
    Thanks again for all advice.

It may just be the lighting but the back 3’ or so of the boat looks darker and the Champion logo is missing.

That appears to me to be a reflection from the trailer fender causing the back to look darker in comparison.. And, of course, I probably am wide of the mark.........

Pretty sure the OP can get someone to make him domed logos if he wishes.

Right in front of the wheel well you can see a light spot that is caused by the chrome reflecting light eating the gel coat. The hull and even the red stripes are lighter in that area. My 86 which was identical had the same issue the chrome needs to go. That light spot next to a dark spot behind the guides stands out.

The detailer pointed out the light and dark spots to me and he said there was a lot of oxidation in that area and rear of boat. Not sure what happened to the Champion decals. The boat has never been damaged so I'm not sure why the light and dark spots. Could the sun cause these spots? I will find the proper decals if possible and put them back on the boat. What is best to use tocover the chrome fenders so there is no reflections. There is other chrome plating on the top of the trailer rails for stepping on that I will cover also.
    Thanks again

Depends on how much money you want to spend. Go buy a set of bare metal fenders a can of primer and a can of black spray paint is the easiest way. I decided to redo my trailer so I stripped mine down, removed all the chrome, replaced with bare carbon (diamond plate on the steps), boards, and wiring. Unloaded the boat in a friends pond had the trailer sandblasted and repainted it with tile clad 2 paint. It's a two part epoxy paint from Sherwin William's. New wiring and LED lights it will be ready for another 20 years of service. Now if I had to redo another trailer I will have it shot with bedlinner instead of paint.

This should be what you need for the sealshttps://www.amazon.com/Seal-Closed-Sponge-Rubber-Aluminum/dp/B00NELWW2Q/ref=asc_df_B00NELWW2Q/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=230452701064&hvpos=1o13&hvn etw=g&hvrand=16712593013891416729&hvpone=&hvptwo=& hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=902367 4&hvtargid=aud-829758849484%3Apla-391438241206&psc=1&th=1
