Are you sure they didn't sell you a gen 3 ?
They are Gen 2units built with HW2D Compatibility. Promotional item at BPS and Cabela’s. The G3 xdcr gives you HW2D sonar on a Gen 2 model. It does not support extra power of the Gen3SI+ model.
kinda like a hybrid Gen 2 / Gen 3 Mabey a Gen 2 1/2 lol.
Probably won’t support Mega 360.
They are not left over G2 units, they were built for this promotion. I got one that was built 9/20/2019.
Main take away for this is if you are mounting the transducer with a transducer saver/shield, you need the g3n model saver in order to fit because the transducer is longer than the regular g2n transducer.
Also for a trolling motor attachment, if you want to use the Humminbird trolling motor mount, it has to be the SI+ model.Originally Posted by skeeter150
