    SLOOOOOO TO DECIDE...Yamaha

Local dealer has had my 2016 225 SHO (6 year warranty, Yamaha prop) since October 26th...
its gear case went out that day......annual service always done...
dealer sent all requested info/pics etc...

    here I am still waiting...
5 weeks seems a very very long time.

It’s ether a warranty claim or an insurance claim it’s that simple .I would have moved the boat to another dealership after a week . Sure sorry to here about the poor service .Hope they get it figured out soon.

I'm told from my dealer that Yamaha has become a pain in the azz when submitting warranty claims! Apparently new people in charge at Yamaha and they have changed processes. I know my dealer isn't happy.

    THE GLORIOUS NEWS:....
    ================
About 2pm today 12/6 my dealer got the word Yamaha is warranting my lower unit!!! (aka free new one)

My total bill for annual service, 4 lower unit labor hours and a pair of those super $90 prop washers should be about $950 or so...

    much better than $5,000.

Long painful wait since October 26th but probably be back on the water by the 12th or 13th.
    (dealer closed Sunday and Monday)

Agree. You shouldn’t have to pay for labor on warranty work

I wouldn’t pay for nothing on a warranty job.

This entire issue sounds fishy. Not adding up.

I think that we are missing "the rest of the story".

This^^^^ and if they are charging you to change it they are robbing you twice, once because it should be warranty and twice because 1 hour is pushing it even with a prop change. CJ

    Thanx for comments...
essentially I think I am playing for labor and a pair of $90 thrust washers...
the rest was the annual fluids, annual filters etc which is several hundred...
after 6 weeks off the water I accepted the deal for a lower unit only...
insurance man said with $250 deductible not worth it...

(I will post details of bill...am told washer due any day to finish repair)
