changing out engines,1998 150 fast strike to 2010 evinrude 150

i have possibly found a 98 ranger with 150 fast strike(runs great) that i can get my hands on.i have a stratos that has soft flooring and possibly other issues(not sure until further inspection)that has a 2010 evinrude 150.my plans are exchanging the engines out where the newer evinrude 150 is in the ranger boat and the 150 fast strike is on the stratos.any difference in the controls, cables, etc.even if the older 150 fast strike controls would work on the newer engine wouldnt you still be better off using the newer controls thats with it now.i plan on keeping the ranger and selling the stratos.thanks for any advice of help
    keep working,your neighbor thanks you

Controls and harness is plug n play. Worse part will be priming the oil pump/VRO on each motor. Don't forget the sealant for the bolt holes.
