    Z-18 bow electronics flush mount.

Has anybody flush mounted their bow depth finder in the plate by the bow. About to add a 9” bow depth finder and think I want to flush mount it to jeep a clean look, but wanted to ask if anyone has theirs flush mounted and if so is there issues with glare and visibility.

I’ve got a buddy that did the flush mount and he wants to move it to a mount bracket now. He says the sun will cast a bad reflection on it at times and he can’t see the screen. Mine are on a double stack mount on my bow and I love it.

Mine is gimbal mounted on a Kong mount at the very front of my recessed tray. I’m really glad I did it this way instead of flush mounting it in that plate.

Don't flush mount it. You will hate it. Leaning over to see it will irritate the daylights out of you. Save yourself the hassle and buy a sonar bracket that straddles the foot pedal.

My big think when i ordered my boat in Jan. is that i didn't want to pop the screen from the heat from under the cover when it sat outside. Now i did get a garage before the boat got here but it does get hot in there also. With my last boat i think i put my units in my vehicle to early the day before a tourney and the heat from the day i think popped one of my units. So i elected not to flush mount them so i can take them off and put in my house where they are safe. These things just cost so much to have things go wrong with them like the heat.

Thanks sounds like flush mount is not a great idea. What mounts are good?

Always issues with sunlight and glare. Also water collection which is not good for touch screens. I just mounted mine to the plastic on the supplied lowrance bracket.

My dealer absolutely talked me out of flush mount. Said they had nothing but complaints from guys that had them do it.

I have mine on a ram mount. I wanna be able to take it off when i want. I just have to make sure i have it tight when i get on the water for the day. When I go through wake if i don't have it tight it will move on me.

mounted mine on a tall BBT mount. Still easy to remove if you desire and much better angle.

I used the product in the below link. It straddles my Ultrex pedal with no issues. I just placed the Bird bracket on the mount and used Durasafe e-locks for security. Off and on in a minute - tops.
