War Eagle 2072 LDSV Trolling motor

A buddy ordered a War Eagle 2072 LDSV for duck hunting and bass/crappie fishing. The dealer says if he puts a Motorguide trolling motor on it would have to be a minimum 54 inch shaft and if he goes Minnkota it would have to be a 60 inch. I have looked at pictures of this boat and it looks to me like a standard 52 inch Minnkota Fortrex would be easily long enough. Anyone have any insight on this?

Maybe the dealer has a stock of trolling motors to get rid of.

I see it has a 21" transom and a 26" bow height on a modified V. A 52 inch trolling motor would be more than enough.
BEST thing for your buddy to do is get in touch with War Eagle boats and ask them. It is pre wired for a T/M
so they would know what is best.

Call War Eagle, they know what you need. I suspect the 52 is plenty since I have a 961 Blackhawk and the 80 lb. 45" Fortrex is plenty.

I have a Ulterra 80lb. 45" Shaft on my War Eagle 2072LDV and it works great for the boat.

45 is plenty. A 60 or 52 is way to tall

45" is not plenty on a War Eagle 2072. Any small wave action and the motor will surface.
