    Best 8' flipping stick for punching up to 2 1/2oz baits

    Don't do a lot of super heavy punching but will be doing more. What's the best overall 8' rod in your opinion? Looking for a somewhat durable rod. And who has the best warranty these days?

    The Dobyns Champion 805 is the best rod I've found, up to 2 oz. I don't know any rod that handles 2.5 oz well but I have used the Fitzgerald 7-10 Heavy Mat Rod.

    ALX Thunderbolt.. Living in Florida I've been through a bunch and nothing has compared to the ALX.. Super backbone with the right amount of parabolic action.. rated for up to 3oz

    Thanks for the invite dead. Never held any ALX but am very familiar with Dobyns. Will be buying with the Black Friday deals.
