Here's a stupid question, assuming it's a good location and we see windmills still going up all over, why would they not reuse the bases and existing infrastructure?

They cut it off with cutting torch above the base making it easier to lift the base off the bolts without damaging the bolts but, that's just my guess.

So coal and nuclear plants run by themselves with not maintenance? I don't understand the big deal, the wind turbines are made in the U.S. and newer technology is better than the old turbines. The former Maytag plant in Newton, IA makes wind turbines now.

That is the most biased, horribly uninformed article on any topic that I have read in years. It’s pure ignorance and embarrassingly bad. It’s Moronic. Moon rock dense. Beyond comprehension. Simplistic. Slanted. Uneducated. Sour. Silly and inaccurate.

Issac is a hack and should be fired first thing tomorrow. And, I’m being kind.

Been working on and managing wind farms for nearly 12 years. Happy to answer any questions from those that value first hand experience.

So the windmills in Kewaunee County, 20 miles north of where I am, haven't been decommissioned?

Interesting. I wonder how recyclable these parts and materials are.

I certainly can understand the concerns of those living directly next door as they can create shadow flicker as well as noise. Especially if there is ice buildup on the blades. Personally haven't known anyone feel physical side effects as I believe that's a hoax.

Either they are being decommissioned around 20 years..or they are not.

    Simple question.

The incredibly stupid thing in my state, is the charge you more if you sign up to use the energy produced by the wind farms.
