    First Bullet setup questions?

Picking up my first Bullet sometime next week. 09 RDC with a 250 Pro xs, 1.75 TM, Atlas Plate. What would be a good shaft to pad starting point and prop to run on this rig? Has a 28 Bravo currently on it. What kind of numbers could I expect? TIA

Generally speaking, the 28 bravo xs is a good start. Rule of thumb is 3/4" below pad. Realistic expectations 81-83

I was told that if Bullet mounts the engine at the factory they set them at 3/4' below pad... And recommend a 28 Bravo I... Dan

Speed depends on how much gear you carry, but 81 to 83 sounds about right

Can you run a torque master lower unit this high? Seems you would need a Sportmaster or nose cone with low water pickup to run this high.

I run my TM at 1/2 below and I have plenty of water pressure. The TM has some holes in the nose also.

Good point, I was thinking of the older Merc lower units.

I run mine at 1/2" below, 250 pro xs with TM2 lower unit. mine is a 21 XRD and I run a bravo XS 28p. I have seen 86 mph running on fumes and dry wells with normal tackle load and just me in the boat. but 80 - 82 is my consistent number.
