    Nema 2000 and Yamaha 2005 300 hpdi

Can this be networked to Garmin 106sv. Current wiring harness works with 06 and newer. Looking around people have claimed they have done this with and 04 and 05 with an adapter plug or by upgrading ecu. Ecu seems to be quite expensive.

Does anyone on here know of this can ve done??

    Thanks

I thought the only difference is the complete harness and ecu? Did they tell you why it can't be done?

I asked Yamaha about upgrading the ecu and they advised against it.

I'm planning to do it. Maybe someone from Hydro Tec will chime in.

What is the serial number of the motor? Some 2005 model year Yams came with NMEA 2000 compatibility even though they were not supposed to. Some had full compatibility and some had partial compatibility.

Worst case is that a different ECU and a different wire harness will be needed. Should be able to find them on the innerweb for much less than new from Yamaha.
