    Empty Trailer

Planning to pick up a tandem trailer out of state. I understand that an empty tandem trailer will bounce if all four tires are left in place. Is this true and if it is which two tires should be removed. Thanks, John

I wouldn’t remove tires. Maybe drop the tire pressure to reduce bouncing.

I agree. Two wheels will bounce badly, too.

I towed my new EZ Loader from Virginia Beach to Richmond empty and didn't do a thing, it was fine, no bouncing or other unruly behavior.

If it's torsion axel I would take the front wheels off and reduce air pressure to say 25-30 ps in the rear tires

if it's leaf springs I would not remove any tire and drop psi to 20 all around

My brother put a 20 foot section of used telephone pole for weight when driving home with his new trailer from the boat factory 900 miles away .
