Do I follow the manual or is there a better way?

Manual states double oil for first 10 hours
first 10 min: fast idle only
next 50 min: nothing over 3500 RPM and vary RPM every 15 min
2nd hour: 3/4 throttle mostly, WOT burst for up to 2 min then back to 3/4 throttle
next 8 hours avoid WOT for long periods, vary spped every 15 min
Is this still legit after 25 years?
That’s how I did my rebuild when I had it done and boy it was torture lol
