What are good prop slip numbers for a bass boat??

I'm running a 1990 Ranger 374V no jackplate a 23 Raker worked by Mark C and when I put my numbers into a prop calculator it came out with 10.83 or something like that, is that good numbers. Gear ratio is 1.86 and my rpms are 5400 and my speed is 56.7 what do you think??

Slip numbers are just a guestimate... Since pitch, cup, rake diameter, all efect it's "Pitch" number you put in the "Calculator" Not to mention tachometer accuracy is normally not 100% right. So these "Slip numbers" don't really mean much.

10-12% is typical for most bass boats. … But if my best prop has 30% slip...…….. WHO CARES?

With the accuracy of smart craft gauges. Mercury has gotten it down to a viable tool and use it extensively in promotion and marketing of there propellers and new generation of lower units.
10-12% used to be acceptable as good. But was not very reliable due to above mentioned variables. Some very good numbers are being reported from Mercury racing out of lake X.

^^this....my Triton is fastest with what seems to be high slip numbers! Mark C figures I am maybe too high on the plate because of the slip numbers, but I am fastest at height! So I am gonna have him repitch my Razor4 from 25 to 26....

What do you consider high slip numbers ?
Your numbers figure out to 11%

I guess Mark C figures his 25p 4 blade acts more like a 26 or 27....which puts me up to 18% area...
