    Garmin

I've pretty well decided in the Garmin echo plus 93 sv over the lowrance black Fri sale. Those that have a Garmin, plus 93, what are dislikes and likes, thanks

1 year into mine. I have 2 units. One has been fine, the other has a mind of its own. Some settings will change for no reason so i have to reset them as needed. Not a big deal if you know how to navigate the menu. Garmin said they would replace it if it continues. So far i can deal with it. I'm on my third GT52 transducer. Both replaced by Garmin. I don't use di or si much so i cant say much about that. Ive been very happy with the 2d sonar in depths from 5' to 100'. I would but again.

Just quit working. Both on the trolling motor. Not a scratch on them. Neither of my 2 units would recognize them. Just kept saying transducer not connected.

Feburary it will be 2 year i'm running my EC Plus and no issues with it....at that time i swapped over from Lowrance and have been happy.....all updates have done with no issues....at one time i had 2 93's but sold one to put on the Ultra 12".......the 2d has been 100% better than my lowrance....right now i'm running the GT52/54 and PS22.....there are alot more settings that can be used to adjustj, but i find it's pretty good out the box but will fine tune a few settings......i have no regrets on getting this unit.

Anybody know where I can get a 93sv on sale with out a transducer? I see they will be $599. with a GT52 transducer. I was hoping I could find a plain unit for like $499 w/o transducer.

How big is the learning curve going from Lowrance to Garmin? I’m going to do a complete electronics makeover on the Ranger as soon as I can decide wether to stay with Lowrance or move to HB or Garmin.
There’s no use being stupid if you’re not willing to show it off.

IMO its not that much....like any program just have to learn the extra stuff and how that brand works....there are more settings than Lowrance....

Ok stupid question here, how in the world do you mark a waypoint quickly on the 93? I was messing with one as if I was graphing with side scan and couldn't figure it out. I don't wanna have to take 2 minutes to mark a waypoint and miss something else while doing it. Thanks for helping a noob.

It takes all of about 1 second. Hit the mark button! then spend 30 seconds to name if you want. easy

Have 4 Garmins on my boat and I can tell you I wont be switching for a long time. I love everything about my units. I have 2 of the older Echomaps and one new 93sv plus, wish they all were 93sv pluses.

Hitting the mark button waypoints where the boat is. That won't work marking something on sidescan.

I picked up the Garmin during the sale last year and I love it. Thinking about updating my Lowrance Hook2 9 with another Garmin and networking them together.
