Yup....You get the update on your smartphone using Active Captain then you connect to the 93SV using the wireless network SSID it is broadcasting that you configure on setup and it uploads to the device.

I've got two 93SV+'s as well. Absolutely no regrets. Love them.

In my opinion I think they are easier to learn than both Lowrance and HB..

I have a 7 Elite Ti2 on the bow and was thinking of a Garmin 93sv to put there but so far haven’t hit the buy now button. Still thinking it over.

I have three 93sv plus units on my boat, two on the bow and one on the console. They are awesome units, the only down side is the terrible instrument guages on the console(looks as if Nintendo made those graphics in the late 80's)

So how do you mark a waypoint in side scan?

I have a pair of 93sv+ for about 2 months.

    Also livescope up front.

The hardware themselves are fine. I find the mapping to be terrible for the main lake I fish in WA and I'm talking about their Ultra chip and like lake is part of their Ultra scan. Granted, I've only taken them out on 2 lakes so far. But my old Navionics chip is so much better. Crystal clear points. Accurate depths. The accurate contours make it easier to see the ledges.

I'm gonna keep 1 up front for livescope but gonna go back to Humminbird. Just bought a Helix 10 G2N for the console. Sell a 93sv+ see what I have leftover for the bow.

Also another thing. With the Garmins, your DI, SI, 2D sonar will only be active for the screen you're looking at. So say you're on 2D and you go over something that looks interesting, and you switch to DI to get a better look. The DI will only start displaying from the time you change views. So whatever you went over doesn't matter.

On my old ass Humminbird 798, you can alternate through all the different view and see the same thing.
