    Cant wait for open water

Ok I've went through the tackle box changed out rusty hooks and cleaned up crank baits. Next on the list is to strip line off reels and oil bearings ,Buy new to me bass boat at the end of March, add a touch of 40* weather for a week or two and voila we all can get the hell out of the house. I love Mich. don't get me wrong but every year it gets to me with this hard water thing. So with that said what lake will you hit first when we have open water? For me it will be Gull or Gun chasing Smallies

I feel the pain all too well... I have props and lures to test, It's hard to make decisions in the tub.

First lake I will hit is Macatawa, because the ramp is 5 minutes from my house. The Grand River will be the second.

Where should I look to go? I live in St Johns but work in Lansing and want to get out and run my new to me boat 1989 Hydro Sports 150V and catch some bass. I have only fished Sleepy Hallow since I have been in Lansing.

Re: Cant wait for open water (jacksonmj)

Hardy Pond!!! As the boys say down south, "son, prepare to get your arms wripped off!" Jerk baits rule!

Looks like you might wanna trim it up Mike, looks like it might be kinda' shallow...or maybe put a towel on the floor before blast off!

jacksonmj, macbass is out of portland, not far from ya', he might be able to point ya in a direction?

macbass, when we hittin the river for eyes? I've been on the bay yesterday and last weekend, we've brought home 33 of em' ! Man they taste good!
