    Batteries in 202

Has anyone successfully ran 3 group 27’s and a group 31 in a 98 202. Not looking for a discussion about why would I want to do something dumb like that. MY 27’s are to new to replace with 24’s for my 36 volt and my Pro XS 250 and rest of the stuff needs the group 31. I want the peace of mind. thanks

Cheatham, how do you achieve that? I can’t seem to make it work. Do you have a pic?

The battery compartment is "T" shaped. The top of the "t" is forward or towards the bow. the leg of the "t" is towards the motor.
You run 3 27 or 29 series on the top of the "t". You'll have to measure that space and find 3 batteries that fit. I had to shop around to find different dimension batteries.
You run the oil tank and starter (series 31) on the bottom leg.

The trollers will be tight. so tight, you might need to lube the sides to gett'em to fit.
You'll have to pull the onboard charger and leave it in the garage or build a platform for that above the batteries.

Option 2: pull the oil tank and premix (maybe not an option with your MErc)
    Option 3: Run lithiums
Option 4: run 3 total batteries and let the 3rd double as your starter

MY 27's are less than 6 months old. They wont fit across the top of the T. But I get the point. If I get new batteries I''ll get some group 24's with the highest reserve I can find. 36volt is overkill on this boat anyway. A smaller oil tank would be nice also.

10/4 thanks. 90$ would be awesome. I did a quick search and I can buy 3 new trollers 24m for the price of that tank.
