    Sonar Freezing

    Hey guys,

    I am having trouble with my HDS 12 Gen 3. My sonar and structure scan continue to freeze for about 1-2 hours at a time. I was on the phone with lowrance techs twice on the water and we were unable to diagnose the issue. I unplugged all my connections to the unit and plugged them back in.... This caused my unit to start reading both 2D and structure scan as it should. It worked well for an hour or so but froze again.

    Any suggestions on what to do here? Lowrance said they can attempt to repair it, but in the past they never seem to repair and just offer an incentive on a new unit. This unit is not that old and would not want to trade in right now.

    Back up all data. Do a hard reset. Run the unit with any map or data storage cards removed and only power hooked up. If it works like that, introduce the cables and cards one item at a time. My SWAG is a bad Ethernet cable.

    If it was Ethernet, would it still share waypoints successfully?
