A little upgrade to the Sabre today.

I removed the RPM and water pressure gauges and installed a Mercmonitor. I then cut out a bigger hole in the console to go from a Helix 7 to a Helix 9 Mega SI. I think I still have a few shards of fiberglass in my arms from running new wires but well worth it.

Yes it does. The previous owner thought he had about 18 hours on the this motor. When I hooked the MM up, it read 18.4. Everything displayed is straight out of the motor's ECU so it is accurate. The other thing I like is that it displays most faults in plain language. It does not store them though. Once you turn the MM off, the fault will clear on the MM (but not the ECU). If you do get a fault, set the boat down and look at the MM. You can pull the safety lanyard to shut down the motor and still keep everything powered.

I wish they came standard on all Mercury motors. They are that good of a tool!

Most likely the wiring/cable is not included. I have added this to 3 BCBs and none of them had the data cable installed. If you have an older System Monitor (the small square gauge) then you use that same data cable. It is not very difficult on a Sabre.

Another option if you don't want to worry about running wires is to use the Mercury Vessel View. Your phone becomes the monitor, and the installation takes 10 minutes under the engine cowling. The module communicates via bluetooth to your phone. Also, very inexpensive. It gives me all of the info that I need, plus more.

I purchased b,d and a terminator cap. Though you willhave to purchase a digital trim sender. And fuel paddle harness to read gallons used. Sherm talked me through it! All my hook ups was right at the dash. The harness going to the motor is not needed
