    2004 519VX w/ 2004 Yamaha HPDI questions ??

    I am considering a 2004 519 vx with a 2004 Yamaha HPDI 200.

The boat is a mid 60's 64-66 MP

The compression is 96-97 on all.

I realize that isn't a ton of information but it's what I have for now. How does that sound for that model boat and motor.

    I have a friend that has a 1999 518 vx with a 200 EFI that hits 70 mph so I thought I would ask.

I have an 06 519 with the HPDI, I run 65 with 2 people full tournament load and gas with a slight ripple. 68 is the best I’ve seen by myself. I love my boat, rough water is the only reason I would get rid of it. It’s so flat so it doesn’t always handle it the best.

Thanks for the feedback ,, How does the compression being at 96-97 sound?

I honestly do not even know what my compression is or what it is supposed to be. I have never had a reason to get it checked.

Well im hoping that since the boat runs mid 60.s it should be fine.

I would tend to agree, but my mechanical knowledge of motors is fairly basic haha. Let me know if you have any questions regarding your potential rig. Like I said, I love mine for the most part. I have had it for sale off and on for the last year or so with the intention of getting a bigger boat.

I'd be more interested in how many hours are on the motor then how fast it goes. Not sure about the compression figures, I know you want them all to be close to each other. I'd post this on the Yamaha forum and find out. I tend to think those numbers a little low.

I have a 2004 519 with a 200 Ficht. The best I have seen with it loaded is 68. The compression numbers aren't the best but they are all close to the same which is probably the most important. I love my ride and am getting ready to "redo" it with new seats, carpet and finally electronics and last a new motor.
