MLB announced this year's Hall of Fame candidates

Meanwhile the guy with 7 Cy Young Awards and the guy who has the most home runs in the season who is also the guy who has the most career home runs and the guy who has the most career base hits aren't in the Hall of Fame or even candidates. What a sham.

The shame is they did not mind cheating to be better than those they played against. In my opinion they need to go in a cheaters wing or no HOF ever. The hall of Fame is for those that played the game the best within the rules Why do we need to honor cheaters?

There were no rules broken by two of the three and the third broke a rule that had nothing to do with the rules of the game. Paul Horning is in the NFL Hall of Fame and he did the same thing that the third guy did.

MLB explicitly prohibited betting on baseball. See the 1919 White Sox if a referenced is needed. Besides look up some the other things the 3rd guy did outside of baseball. No HOF wants that guy and he will never be in the baseball HOF.

Shame is they had to use steriods to get those accolades, and Rose bet while actively involved in games. Of the three, Rose has the best case to be in in my opinion. Regardless they all broke the rules, and shouldn't be awarded for their actions.

There were no rules in baseball against steroid use when those guys used steroids. Just like guys in football used to use steroids before they had rules against it.

    Steroids were banned in 1991.

Exactly, Jeter never bet on baseball or used steroids, so he gets to go in the first time, no questions or issues. Rose and others knew the rules but thought somehow they were above them.

Rose had more problems other than betting

The Rose Defenders need to read the Dowd Report in it's entirety Rose wasn't just innocently involved in betting with the boys on basketball and football pools at the local bar.

Rose may be the "Hit King" but his "Gambling Addiction" caused him to throw away the rest of his MLB Career plus the adulation and substantial benefits of his retirement years.

That addiction has left him as nothing more than a pitiful angry individual who lied about it to his fans for 15 years to signing autographs in a mall in Las Vegas and card shows then whining to whoever will interview him trying to justify his actions by comparing the bad behavior of others.

Elvis is also the King in his specialty and his "Addiction" turned him into a bloated pitiful individual before death took him at 42 years of age.

Michael Jackson is referred to as the King of Pop and we all know how he ended up.

Evidently being a King has it's downside and didn't protect them from "Self Destructing Addictions" but hey they'll always be the "King" whether someone on the BBC likes it or not.

How many would trade their lives to be like one of these "Three Kings" ?

Rose will never sniff the HOF. To bad because of his play on the field definitely warrants a place in the Hall. He made his bed and now must lay in it.
The “steroid” era in baseball has left a black mark on the sport. But, if there was no testing and these guys were never suspended nor punished for using peds then their numbers should speak for themselves.
The truth is not all peds are going to make you huge like Canseco, Maquire, and Bonds. Those guys were running bodybuilder type gear. Look at most guys that are busted, like Braun. Not a huge guy. They are taking stuff to speed recovery, and heal injuries.
So, do you exclude everyone from the 80s through the testing era? There is no way to tell who was using and what were they using.

Shitty part is that none of the people you hint at needed to do what they were guilty of to be Hall of Famers. We were lucky to be alive to watch these all-time greats play and they tarnished their legacies chasing more of something.

Yep Hope they Cry enough to keep the River of Denial flowing so they can float their Pity Party Boats on it every year when the HOF Announcement is made and it doesn't include them.

Clemens and Bonds have millions to console them but Pitiful Pete spent a big chunk of what he had on legal fees trying to cover up his lies so is pretty well committed to his mall appearances.

Bud Selig, the greatest commission MLB has ever had according to some, is in the HOF. Yet the players that made MLB tons of money arent. They asked ol' Bud to step down after the Mitchell report was published and he didnt because the owners we making boat loads of money.

Maybe when these players are voted on by the ERA Committee they vote them in just like they did Bud. All but 1 said Bud was HOF worthy. If they'll vote him and Harold in they'll vote for anyone.

I hope they weren't using what is now the BBC Bar as a meeting place to make and collect the bets back then even though you were either way too young to be hanging around bars or not even born yet.

Things in the past like that now days could keep you from getting confirmed to the Supreme Court and denied being inducted into the BBC Hall of Fame when you become eligible.
