If you watch the video it says money was no factor in his decision. He wants to try and win a Bassmasters classic for his dad. The classic always has been and always will be the biggest tournament there is.

    He's fished 19 BASS events.

If he can play than by all means do so

I'm suprised he wasn't the elite tour before the split to be honest

Whether you like the decision or not, his quest to qualify will make awesome content for his YouTube channel.

That's what he said but I don;t think thats what he meant. If that was truly the reason, he'd have jumped at the elite invite last year.

Seems telling that he would choose BASS AAA events over MLF FLW AAA events

Well last year he was still on FLW and in the big leagues. Now, no matter what he is going to be in the minor leagues. Just had to choose which minor league he prefers

Some have speculated that he had his entry fees comped at FLW to stick around last year, but who knows really.

That’s an answer that most fans want to hear. If winning the Classic was such a big deal to him you’d think he would’ve went to the Elites last year when he got an invite? I think he stayed on the sinking ship too long hoping it would stay afloat. Everyone else bailed onto Boyd’s dingy or BASS’s life raft. He drug his feet and was forced to decide between the seat cushion or the igloo cooler.

pretty cool story on his youtube page on the decision he made-

Turns out he was named after Ray Scott and received a free lifetime membership to BASS because of that.
