    Steez & Legend X Question

    Hi All,

Looking for feedback from anyone who have fished a couple of rods.

First is the Daiwa Steez 7'2 MH Regular Taper. I never really heard anyone discuss this rod in these forums. If anyone has used it, pros-cons and maybe some techniques it excelled at?

Second is the St. Croix Legend X - 7 Ft Med/Heavy Fast Action. If anyone has used it, pros-cons and maybe some techniques it excelled at?

    Thanks for the feedback

The Daiwa Steez AGS 72MHRB is a great rod. I use mine for everything from smaller cranks, square bills, spinner baits, vibrating jigs, swim jigs, top waters, jerk baits, etc. It is very light, well balanced, sensitive, and highly versatile. It is definitely an enthusiast level rod, as are all the Steez AGS models.

The St. Croix Legend X 7'MH is an "all purpose" type rod that handles jig/worm fishing, spinner baits, vibrating jigs, etc. It is less a treble hook moving bait rod and more a lighter bottom contact, single hook moving bait rod, though some big square bills or things like that are fine on there too...

I own the 7'1 St Croix Legend X MH, i've been using it for a few seasons now.

    Pro's:
-Really interesting & unique tip. it's very 'soft' for a typical MH. The tip makes it fantastic for single hook moving baits like Swim Jigs/spinnerbaits/buzzbaits.
-Stupid light. I have a aldebaran on mine and it's hilariously light weight.
-Torzite guides! best of the best
-It's STUPID sensitive. I put it on par with my NRX 873C. It's like underwater sonar.

    Con's:
-Fit & Finish is really not $400 level quality. It's kind of a boring looking rod with very littlle styling flourishes. It doesn't LOOK like a flagship rod, even though it is.

I use mine almost all summer for fishing 3/8th oz jigs in shallow water (skipping docks and bank fishing) and 1/4oz swim jigs.
I come from the land of the ice and snow.
