    Personal Best Buck

    **Update - he scored 150-3/8"!!

Saturday night I put my hit list buck, and also most every hunter's in the area, on the ground. It was an exciting day that started out with a juvenile eagle hunting the creek my blind overlooks. That's pretty uncommon in our area.

He's been on my trail cams off and on this fall, and everybody in the area knew about him.

Then Saturday evening he appeared and chased does out to 195'ish yards and gave me a shot with my 450 Bushmaster. To say I was absolutely thrilled and overwhelmed is an understatement. I've hunted 35 years and only seen (2) other bucks like this, but never had an opportunity to harvest one.

**Anybody want to guess what he will score? (without deductions)

Congrats! He's a beauty! Looks like he has good body mass too. Did you put it on a scale?

Yes, he has rutted pretty hard and only weighed in at 174 lbs. Looking at that side profile picture of him alive I would have thought he would weigh more. The rut is pretty hard on the boys.

I would've guessed a little higher than that too.

I'm not very good at guessing scores but I'll say 155. They're good and solid
