Took it all the way. 06 ChampioN 198

Couldn't bring myself to sell the boat and get a new one. I felt like if I got a new hull and it wasn't every bit what this boat is, I'd never live it down. So we spent the last year getting the full overhaul done. Ultrex trolling motor, new trailer from Coastline, and yesterday the finishing touch - new steering and a 2019 225 SHO. No numbers yet, doing the break in now. It felt strong. Smooth and punchy.

    Looks pretty freaking good.

Really interested in the SHO numbers! What was the previous motor and what speeds did you see? I know my day is coming on the motor.

If I get the opportunity, I'll do EXACTLY what you guys did. Don't really want a new boat, but I'd love to make my 196, or a new-to-me 198 or 210 "show room new" again.

REALLY nice looking Champ you got there!

I’m running a Fury 3 blade 24p cooler weather, Fury 3 blade 23p during summer. I only have 20 hours on the new motor. Fully loaded I’m getting 72mph gps. I hear really good things about the Bravo 1 FS prop from the PHX 21 Phoenix guys that run the SHO, I may try one soon.

Man, if I had the $$$ I'd find a 198 or 210 that suited me, bolt a new Pro XS on it and go to town! I'd have the "perfect" boat for about $30K less than a new one and it'd be PERFECT (for me!).
