    Split ring pliers too big

I have purchased several pair of split ring pliers and they all seem too big for the smaller split rings. Even if you do happen to get to the split it stretches the ring too much and deforms it. Again that is if you can even get the bulky tool in there. Any recommendations on a pair of GOOD set of split ring pliers for the smaller baits?

    Thanks,
    Chris

Google "Texas Tackle" split ring pliers. Best I've ever had, and they make them for smaller sizes.

This, though I think it's an X instead of a Z. Absolutely awesome, make changing hooks actually easy! They're better than the Texas Tackle ones, have tried both.

Does the Xuron preserve the smaller split rings better? Texas Tackle is what I use now but once you get down to the 0 sizes they will open them up permanently.

They've worked with everything I've tried, never issues with mangling them unless I try to put a ring that's too small on something with too large a diameter (I think a different issue entirely). Honestly don't know sizes, but I've used them a bunch on ice fishing lures which I have to believe are smaller than anything you'd ever use on a bass lure, or even most open water crappie lures. The jaws are better designed than the Texas Tackle ones as well, no finagling to try and line up the split in the ring with the tip of the pliers.

I took a comfortable pair I had and used my moto dremel to make them work on smaller rings works great.

I use the Xuron's too, better than the Texas Tackle IMO. I use them for the 110. I am curious about the jewelry split ring pliers though, still a little tricky. But, if you know any about 110's changing hooks is not optional. One of the best baits out there, horrible hooks though.

I hated my Texas tackle ones. Too big in my opinion. I sent em back and now have some cheap Berkeley ones that have a real small tip. Can change em way easier wish these.

Those Xuron pliers look identical to the jewelry pliers I got at Michaels for $6.
