Upgrade trolling motor from 80#thrust to 112 thrust

I have a Ranger 2008 520 VX with 80# thrust minn Kota. Do I have to upgrade wiring or just ad third battery and pattern wiring for 36 volt 112# thrust trolling motor

Just add the battery. The 112 will actually draw less amps wide open. More watts but less amps.

Wiring will be fine. The breaker might need changed out though. Usually the 80# has 50a breaker(s) and the 112# needs a 60a.

I have a 2008 z20 with mk 36 volt and it runs great with no problems on a 50 amp breaker

Change the breaker to a 60 amp if you're upgrading to an Ultrex, 50 amp will probably be fine if you're getting a 112 Fortrex.
