Dip spit, loogies, piss, oil, antifreeze, dirt and whatnot is on the bottoms of your shoes, but your carpet and rugs will clean it off..

If you didn't take your shoes off you'd have enough time to use your own bathroom.

Seriously though some of those place are nasty.

    I work for myself.
I don't think I would work anywhere I had to change my shoes if I used the bathroom.

I’m a shoes off person and haven’t been to the doctor in 7yrs, and that was just for a physical to run track for college. Just because I prefer to not walk on dirt, have a visibly dirty house, furniture, floors, etc. does not mean I’m a germaphobe. It just means I want to take care of my house, keep things looking nice and clean.

People should respect your home, shoes off. The realtor should also mention it. Good luck on the sale....hope it sells fast!

Shoes off guy here....have a dog as well. You're right they aren't the cleanest, but they aren't walking all over the house most of time and they very rarely leave the yard. She, the doge, goes outside, does her business, and comes back in. She has a mat / towel at the door she steps on. I know it's not like washing their feet.

It's more about the wear and tear of the shoes on the flooring than it is about sanitation. I prefer to be bare foot, my girlfriend is from HI, she grew up bare foot. We were both raised shoes off at the door.

Who knew this would become such a debate.
Been fishin' since I was 5 years old...Thanks Grandpa!
