Can someone help me identify this Mercury?

I'm looking at a boat with a 35 horsepower Mercury outboard it says oil injection on it, but I cannot read any of the numbers on the plate. Looking for any info or how to identify the year.

My guess is it's a 1988. A buddy of mine has an old Tracker with that motor.

Most likely the old auto blend system should be a small tank in the boat someplace unless it was converted to premix , which is what I would do with it.

Unfortunately, I couldn't read a single number on that plate, I even tried to use the pencil and paper trick and I still couldn't pull number off

I had a 1988 Tracker TXS with a MERC 60 on it and it had "Oil Injection" on the cowling and it was located in the service bay in a remote tank (small one) hence "Oil Injection"

I would never buy a boat that was exposed to weather without even a cheap cover. seats probably soaked and will crack and everything is sunbaked. Do some shopping, check Craigslist in every market within 200 miles from your house with price range, search with the word fishing. You should find a nice garage kept small 16ft. fishing boat in the $1500 to $3000 range.

This motor had a panel in the front of it that popped off. Then there was a latch underneath. I undid the latch, then the round part of the cover came off. There's a cover on top that stayed on.

Late 70's to early 80's had the same cover as the tower of power should be a inline 2 cylinder.
