    Tool holder

I'm curious if anyone has mounted a tool holder other than the one that is stock on the Cougar (and probably other Cats)? I find it hard to grab stuff when I'm on the front deck.

I hose clamped an old umpire ball bag to my seat pedestal. Perfect for pliers and snips. Velcro opening, nothing flies out.c7481151-fc73-4811-b6a6-d4a9e9c8e555_1.23e22a89dadd1bf53ba21e02e3123ee6.jpeg

    Interested!!!
I have no issue in my PII stooping to get my tools that I have mounted in front of the cooler, but as I get older it would be nice to have a front deck location.

I would agree. It sure could be a little more user friendly.

On this, I actually have a holder that attaches to my seat pedestal (came with the boat when I purchased it. Used). Unfortunately I do not use a seat when I fish. So that isn't an option for me.

I put the exact same thing on my PII on the passenger facing side of the rod box. Has worked great for the past 4.5 years

You can cut foam to fit inside the cup holder, and cut slits to hold pliers and scissors. Integrated tool and rule holders are inadequate IMO on my '14 Puma. Maybe BCB will make a tool holder that replaces the stainless steel cup holder. While they're at it, I'd like to see a stainless steel dual cup holder to replace the plastic one in the carpeted step box. The step box is cheesy IMO, and a stainless steel replacement would spruce it up some. I think these 2 items would be worth while and they could sell a bunch. I'd be first in line.

I have an Xpress aluminum boat. What would I stick the magnets on? Like the concept but not sure where I could attach it.

The magnets hold the scissors and pliers in place. You screw it in or do like I did and use 3M 2 sided automotive trim tape.

I have it mounted against the cooler on my 16 PII. The height was too short to mount it above the cooler. The tools would stick out above the deck.
Works great, but would like something accessible on the bow also.

Did the same thing on my Sabre FTD. The front cup holder is too small to be of much use for holding drinks. Works perfectly as a tool holder. I used some leftover thick foam out of a Pelican case. Pinched off the sections to make it fit, and punched the center sections to hold pliers and scissors.
I also have a Rapala canvas tool holder strapped to my front pedestal to hold another set of pliers, and a Boomerang line cutter., and the magnetic tool holder shown above mounted on the passenger side rod box (rear). That’s for the passenger to use.
