    Poles SAVED me some $$$

So my wife and I fished the toyota owners tournament on pickwick last month and I thought I would share this story. I'm sure some of you guys have done this or seen this but being a fairly new pole owner I thought I would share.

So we are fishing just south of the dam around some really big pylons and the current got the best of my boat and whipped me around pretty quickly. The ultrex didn't have enough to keep me out of trouble. Just enough to slow down the inevitable which was sling the back end of my boat towards the pylon. I had just enough time to lower poles to protect outboard before I smashed my outboard. Poles took it like a champ. No issues at all.

I can't count how many times my shallow water anchors have saved me from tearing my boat up. There worth having for that reason alone.
