Gentlemen I have what looks to be a spring issue with my trolling motor. It won't lock down when I put the trolling motor in the water. How do I fix this issue, I can't really see where the spring goes.. I appreciate any help that I can get.

The spring hooks to the lip on the rear of the lower arm. The diagram below does not show that very well but I have attached it to show you the break down of the lower arm. I have never tried to re hook the spring with the lower arm on the mount. I always had to remove the lower arm to fix something else and then I re-hook the spring. some times it will do that, but sometime the eye on the latch mechanism breaks and the spring comes off.
