    Sutton Lake, Wilmington, NC

My success rate at Sutton wasn't too bad after Florence but it got continually worse as time progressed. The last two times I fished there in September, I got skunked. I got busy with deer season and haven't been back since.

Hoping I'm the problem and not anything to do with the bass population and would appreciate hearing others experience at Sutton since Florence.

All the fresh water fishing in Wilmington really suffered after Florence. Sutton, Greenfield, Cape Fear and NE Cape Fear. All are making a come back. We had a great time out on Sutton the other week. A buddy finally got his boat back after being repaired and we did a test run out at Sutton. Fished for Bass and Brim. No large Bass or Brim, but plenty of both. Largest Bass was 3 lbs. and found in the deeper water

It was so bad this past year after Florence, fresh water fishing was just off the table. Seemed like the only thing in Sutton that was worth while was the Carp. River about dead until the past month. I tried Greenfield after the storm, but not lately. Ready to hit Greenfield very very soon in the Yak.

you will find sutton is better during cold months , always was for me , days we caught 100 bass per day , when it was thermal, not as good since the natural gas took the place of coal fired furnace, still a cool weather lake seems to me
