    Memphis’s fight with the NCAA

It is time to throw the full weight of the BBC behind Memphis and against the NCAA. This is the Curt Flood moment.

You can't possibly think its OK to pay people off to get them on your team. Everyone thinks they are fighting for the little guy against the NCAA, but what you are doing is letting the big guys make it impossible for others to compete fairly.

Just remember Memphis is the NCAA. Their president helps set the rules they're supposed to play by... Either play by them, accept the ruling or convince a bunch of other schools to start another organization... Pretty simple... Dan

Hardaway wasn't even thought of for the Memphis coaching position at the time he gave the kid's family 11,500. The kid played on his AAU team before Hardaway got the high school coaching job. The kid wanted to play for Hardaway when he got the high school job. The reason the 11,500 is a problem with the NCAA is that they consider Hardaway a booster, because in 2008 he gave a million to the university. The kid was going to Kentucky until they fired the former coach and hired Hardaway.
Hardaway has helped out many of his former AAU players and none attend University of Memphis. The booster/alumni/now coach connection has a lot of unanswered questions. I think this is a unique situation and not so black and white so to speak.

    ^^^^^^^^Fact!^^^^^^^
The screwy rule (and worded ambiguously)that once a person donates any money to a University regardless how long ago it was, they remain a booster is wrong! It’s not the $11.5k it’s the booster status from 2008. Hardaway has no idea he’d even be the Memphis coach then and to be held accountable now as a booster is not right.
gonna be interesting. Another thing and the University and Hardaway know it, every blue chip recruit is watching this and knows it’s wrong by the NCAA. Hardaway as a coach is a threat to Calapari, Coach K and others. You can’t tell me the NCAA wasn’t nudged by one of the elite BB programs to go after Memphis. I say, go for it Memphis.

To grab another “over used “ term lately- Whistleblower

There’s always been a “deep state” in the world of recruiting. Can you say, World Wide Wes?
