    103 vrs 114 Milwaukee 8

Anyone go from the 103 to the 114? Thinking about upgrading my road glide I have a 13 model , the intruding draw is the bigger motor. Is it all that ?

rode one of the 107 M8 bikes. was a street glide. man that thing has some torque big time over the 103 in my buds '12 street glide with the 103.
mine being a 96" on my 07 it was an eye opener. couldn't imagine the power of the 114 or the 117 even I have seen in some of the CVO models

Night and day difference. When I bought my 107 I test rode a 16 103 also. The 17 107 was a complete different bike. They can make some crazy torque and HP numbers also.

I bought a 2013 softail slim this summer with 2K miles on it with the 103 twin cam. It’s nowhere near the torque the M8 is. BUT, I’d rather have the 103 for reliability. Never had an issue with my 107 yet. But I’ve had to do some things to it that should have been done before they became available to the public. Not a big deal but should have been done. I’ve read about various issues with the M8 but you never know how they were treated- like oil checked etc.

I do love the Slim but when it’s time to road trip nothing beats the road-glide.

Then there is the 06 883. It’s fun too! Going to make it into my gravel road bike some day.

I just traded my 14 Ultra Classic for a 19 Road Glide Ultra and IMO I am very impressed with with the 114.

There were some upgrades to the front end from 2013 to 2014 models. Larger fork tubes. Also that was the year for the bags and trunk change. Then of coarse they did the motor upgrade a couple of years ago. I personally have not been on one of the Milw.8 bikes.

Thanks for the input , I never had any complaints with the 103 so more torque and hp with the 8 is a bonus . .. my RG has the old style saddle bags and my wife has problems closing them every time it just seems like enough improvements all around between a 13 to a 20 I think it's time.
