If you read the article, they're suing over the advertising saying it goes against state laws. Just wanted to throw that out there before everyone starts going cray without reading it...

Total B.S., Its not the Guns fault or the Gun Makers fault the gun itself was just a tool, its the mentally disturbed sick in the head individuals who are looking for their recognition who is at fault. I don't know, but if they allow them to sue the Gun Maker, then is this not just putting a money value on a persons life? IMO A persons life is priceless! That is my Thoughts on this matter.

I don’t have an issue with it, but with all the BBC constitutional lawyers, I’m sure it infringes on rights. Let the justice system work it out.

Suing Remington on this case makes no sense. Suing automakers when some lunatic runs a car or truck into a crowd of people would be just as logical....which is to say not at all.

Not a fan of any industry/company getting special protections. The tobacco industry, Major League Baseball and the NCAA are just a few examples of powerful lobbies that got special exemptions along with the NRA. Seems like everyone of these exemptions lead to abuse. Everyone should be responsible for their actions/products to some degree, that's what courts are for. If Remington (or any gun maker) were advertising a gun as "the perfect weapon for a mass shooting" or "easiest platform to home modify to fully automatic operation" we'd all agree they should be held accountable. Under current rules they could say anything and get away with it.

WTF does this mean? So Stanley tools is responsible for someone killed with a claw hammer and Buck knives is liable for a deranged lunatic stabbing people to death? The “tool” is not the killer.

No, that is not what I said. If Stanley built a bright colored hammer with a spike on one end, then marketed it as a child's toy (Thor's Hammer) and sold it for $.49 they would have some liability IMO but a they would likely be sued and a court would decide. All gun manufacturers have a special exemption from all liability. I'm sure Stanley would love to have that exemption too. I'm just saying all manufacturers should be treated the same.

I guess we need to sue automobile manufactures too ; after all, people die getting hit by cars. And car companies " target " a younger audience, so lets just drink the kool aid and sue / ban everything that kills too. These are such sad times we are living in. The left is so pathetic.

This is not a left or right thing. I'm not saying we don't need tort reform. I'm saying one industry should not be exempt while other aren't, that's all.

It's called a pick and Stanley makes one which just like a weapon will not do any damage without that input from the user.
