    Fict to E-tec conversion??

Have a 2003 Fict 200 and was wondering if this conversion was possible.

Plug and play just need to cap off the return line at the oil tank the Etec doesn't use the return line.

I went from a 1999 Ficht 150 to a 150 HO E-TECH that was manufactured in 2013...for the year/type motor I am speaking about it was just as ChanpoiNman said. All they had to do was cap off the return line on my oil tank.

Those were G1 models of the E-TEC. The G2 models are completely different.

Fred, would I need to find six injectors for G1, or G2. And, I'm fairly good with mechanical stuff. Is this something I could accomplish DIY? Any idea where I could begin to search for injectors?

You still haven't stated which ETEC you're converting to....as Seahorse stated there is a difference between the G1 and G2...Model # is extremely important.

You can't convert your engine to an Etec. You can swap to an Etec, G1 that would be plug and play.

Replacing a FICHT engine and repowering with a G1 Evinrude E-TEC is a simple bolt-on replacement as long as it has mechanical controls and not the digital "fly-by-wire" system which would require different wiring and control box.

Be aware that the boat rigging has to be inspected as you do not want a newer high-tech engine trying to operate with a 20 year old marginal fuel and electrical system and/or worn out shift and throttle cables and controls.

I guess what I am asking is if I can simply replace the Ficht injectors with whatever the G1 had. Yes, my controls are in good shape with a new cable also. I am the second owner of this boat that has 300 hours on it.

You cannot replace the injectors from one to another, the FICHT and E-TECs are completely different engines. About the only thing interchangeable between them is the fuel filter.
