Ultrex problem or issue?

On my 2 nd Ultrex. No problems from first one. This one is 3 months old. Last two weekends it’s been cold low in the 30s.the plastic sleeve over the cables from the head to foot pedal has cracked in two places were it bends. Has anybody had this problem before I contact minn Kota?

Cut that black plastic one off or just cover it with the neoprene replacement.

IMO.. very poor design.
I changed mine out.

Most likely anything not original would... even though it might have nothing to do with a different issue.. I figure that would depend on the ASC ..
Like yours being cracked already, I would sure take a picture before removing.

The plastic sleeving will crack when it gets cold. It's just a reaction from plastic and cold weather, making it stiff, then cracks. It is not a warranty item as it is cosmetic. We carry the T&H Troll jacket that allows you to cover the plastic jacket as well as any wires you may have running along this sheath.

That will depend on how picky your ASC wants to be. Myself, I wouldn't void the warranty unless it is from a cut wire. even with wiring exposed, it has nothing to do with the lower unit/steering module, etc.
