    520L has no lift

My L boat wont get the nose up. I have the 4 stroke Mercury with a 23 3 blade Fury. I tried a 24 4 blade Fury but lost speed. Anybody found a prop besides the Fury?

I am on my second 520L. I have had a 2020 since September. This one has a Merc 4 stroke and it has great lift compared to my 2018. I am running the stock 23 Fury. I am running 72 fully loaded with two people. This boat is about 5 mph faster and far more lift compared to the 2018.

I’m on my fourth 520L and it goes 90 and makes flap jacks for me in the rod locker. Kidding aside ... prop + jack plate + trim .. the solve has gotta be in some adjustments with these culprits. Good luck.

Prop first. 3 brand new props out of the box will deliver 3 different results.

I have been running between 4-6 depending on load and chop. The 520L has far less lift than the original 520s. It is a different hull. The old 520s ran very high on plane.

Run your Atlas if that’s what you have in 8 or 9 on the digital gauge. You may need a 25 pitch. 23 is what I run in my 521L. That boat should lift a lot.

You might twist the blades off of that with a 250. That’s the reason Merc came out with the Tempest +,thicker blades but is also a tad slower. I run an A45 on my 200 Opti,it’s a great prop for me.

I have the 19 520L with the Merc 4 stroke, 23 Fury and Atlas jp. Running 72-73 two people and way to much tackle. JP set on 9 seems to be the sweet spot for this set up and 6200 rpm. Love this combo. Boat does not lift as much as my old C boat.
