Thank you for the info Paul. Do you think those lights would fit into the rub rail? That way, if I sell the boat down the road, the new owner could simply glass in under the rub rail and replace the rub rail rather than having to pay a fiberglass shop to match and glass in the holes in the hull. Either way, I think I'm going with your option as they do look good on your boat.

if the light is 1/2 and the thread size is smaller like 1/4 to 3/8 that might work fine sense the rub rail insert is 7/16
im curious about the actual size myself

we have done quite a few of these like this with the Ozniums
    budnav.jpg

and if anyone dont mine the extra $$$ I have the complete replacement rubrail insert with built in

I spoke with the manufacturer of these lights. The diameter of the light is 7/8" and the hole size for the thread is 3/8". What are your thoughts, do you think this could fit within the rub rail area to look somewhat OEM?

looks like you will have to cut some of the rub-rail to get it flush enough, that also means the insert will get cut about completely into, its not very soft so its not going to flatten out, also looking at the picture it doesn't look long enough to go through unless its completely recessed in the rubrail

Do you have any pictures of the Taco Marine LED lights installed? I am looking at the F38-6602 model.
    Thanks

Agree - I looked at doing this but opted for putting it in the fiberglass. Not too worried about the holes because they are smaller than most and the mod looks and works fantastic - the owner of my shop actually put these on his own boat when he saw mine.

Took a look around your site, and didn't see the navigation lights. Is it too new to be listed? Very interested.

I did the Ozniums and they worked great. Drew helped me out with suggestion on the installation.

I looked at these also - do you have a pic of the install? THey require a slightly larger hole and the bolt isn't quite as long as the Southern Lite LED's - that was my only concern.

I ordered a set from Tim...they were $75 for the pair. Tim also shared they were installing them 40" back from the center of the bow nose, and that this distance back from the front worked out well.
