Like I said it has gotten away from the sport, just BIG money. To fish these tournaments now you have to have a lot of money, great sponsors, or both
.The video above was a fiasco in my opinion. They could have at least edited it to not show this 200+ pound guy struggling with a 12" (?) fish.
On the net issue, that was brought up years ago & also they really considered using only 8 lb test. The fish had to lipped from the side of the boat.
This was to put each fisherman on an even keel ( pardon the pun ). That was shot down rather quickly by the sponsors, again MONEY!
Wonder what George Perry would think about this now.

That’s the new tournament director for BPT. He must know that dang rule book frontwards and backwards. Otherwise seems like an odd choice.

AGEE with penalty for weighing a fish thats don't make minnium weight .
