help me buy a new rod

Looking to get a new rod, broke one last time I was out. I really have only fished abu and bass pro rods. The carbonlite and the varitos/vandetta. Would like to be around the $150 range. Caster, 7' med or med/heavy. What else is out there in that price range?

St. Croix Avid would be my choice code to that price range. Exceptionally well made, super sensitive rod at any price. They list for around $200.00, but a couple of board sponsors sell them, and might offer a discount. The ALX Ikos is another nice rod in that price range.

Lots of good options in that price point, I’d have to agree with RazorCat. St. Croix makes a very nice rod in that price range, I prefer the grip on the Avid X. $220MSRP but the next month or a board sponsor you can get in your budget.

ALX Rods IKOS Series is a top choice. Really outpaces a lot of $150 class, or so our customers like to tell us.

All IKOS Series rods are assembled in Aiken, SC. Domestic assembly is pretty hard to find at $150. Only a couple options out there.

The IKOS Buzz 7 is a 7' Medium
The IKOS Promise 7 is a 7' MH

Denali kovert LT is right in that price range too. I can fish with one all day and not ever feel fatigued. Super lightweight, strong sensitive rods .

Can't stack promotions. Pretty standard across most retailers.

No Black Friday... but we will be running our annual Bundle Special in the very near future... be sure you're on the email list. if you use gmail, they have started filtering your emails for you, so if you don't see emails from somewhere you sign up for them... look under "promotions" and you will find the emails with special offers.
