    Question question on repitching a prop?

    how many inches can a prop be re-pitched I thought max was 1 " up or down , can you say what is true? Just curious thanks

    Most good prop guys know that 1 inch up or down from its original casting is best. Because you can’t bend the root of the blade. You can bend the outside of the blades more, But the efficiency is lost.

    Dont know if MIchael agress with on this, But it seems to me it leaves the Prop guy more options in achieving your goals when a prop is worked up in average pitch, A little more limited going down. Seems all my really good props have been worked up. It was explained to me that it had to do with rake and progression of pitch …….May be Michael will add more to this
