Probably just need to replace the analog sender with a digital one. If you post your engine serial number one of the pros here can confirm.

Installation is quite simple- remove lower cowlings, remove (old) analog sender, replace with digital. Connection wires are COLOR CODED.

Calibrate trim sender from MercMonitor (utilize your Manual).

Older post but part number still the same (you can check here with your serial)

IMPORTANT: There is an adapter harness that comes in the 891777A01 Digital Trim Sender. IT MUST BE INSTALLED BETWEEN THE ENGINE AND THE TRIM SENDER.

If you do not install this adapter, THE SENSOR WILL PLUG IN, BUT WILL NOT CALIBRATE.
